Sport News: Ronaldo gives Nani his silver boot award

Cristiano Ronaldo has been reveling in Portugal’s Euro 2016 victory, but doesn’t seem to have forgotten about his teammates’ efforts.

The 30-year-old was awarded the competition’s Silver Boot after managing three goals and three assists for his country, although he didn’t hold on to it for long. Ronaldo finished the tournament with three goals and three assists, making him the winner of the silver-boot behind France’sAntoine Griezmann who won the Golden boot with six goals.
After the match he gave it to fellow former Manchester United star Nani, in a great show of support for the man who led the side after he went off injured in the final against France.
Nani also scored three goals in the tournament, but only managed one assist to miss out on winning the second-place prize.
Regularly portrayed as a selfish player, Ronaldo may have proved a few critics wrong with this gift to his compatriot.
Ronaldo got injured just less than 30 minutes into the game and it was Nani who rallied his teammates to victory in the final against host France.
With their main star on the sideline, Portugal got the winning goal in the extra-time through substitute Eder.
Nani took to his Instagram to thank Ronaldo for his kind gesture. “More than a captain you’re a champion! Thanks for the gift! Let’s go Portugal we are the Champions!,” he wrote alongside a photo of him and Ronaldo holding the silver-boot.
