Aftermath Of Suspected Fulani Herdsmen’s Attack On Niger State Village (Photos)


This led to a serious scuffle which warranted the intervention of security operatives.
In the Tungan Malam clash, a youth allegeldy led cattle into a large farmland, destroyed the crops. When the owners of the farm complained, the youth and other herders struck and killed one of the farmers. The farmers however regrouped and went on a reprisal, killing at least three herdsmen.
NEMA officials in Minna along with other key stake holders paid a visit to Bokuta village. Women and children in the village fled and are camped in Bosso primary school, while the men along with security officers stood guard over their crops in the village.

No fewer than 10 persons were reportedly killed in clashes ‎between suspected Fulani herdsmen and farmers in two communities in Niger State. The ‎clashes happened between July 7 - 8 , at Bokuta village, Bosso LGA and Tungan Malam village in Paikoro LGA. In the first community, some herdsmen reportedly invaded a farm with their cattle and destroyed a lot of crops.

The farmer engaged the herdsmen in a fight during which one of the invaders was killed while another one was injured. The following day, herdsmen went on a reprisal and shot five farmers dead.‎
